MUSEUM IN A CUPBOARD:

Museum In A Cupboard (MIAC) has been set up to house Sober & Lonely's modest collection of artworks and curiosities. The pieces include works donated by collaborators, works exchanged with artists and institutions, and objects collected from significant places, people, events or experiences. MIAC provides an intimate and feasible space to house the collection. We are in the process of developing an online archive and public programming to showcase the Museum. The Museum layout was conceptualised together with The Museum of Collateral Art in October 2014.

MIAC was officially launched at the 2014 Year End Function on 11 December 2014. The Permanent Collection Gallery displayed MIAC's newest acquisition, a series of works called Bernad Belly Button Bottles by Jon Bernad. The SmallSips Project Space hosted an interactive telephone work titled Food for Thought by Skye Quadling and Karin Tan of SmallSips. Phillip Raiford Johnson made a site specific lightbox piece called Perspextive for the space adjacent to the Euridice Kala Gallery, and the MIAC archive was also available for the audience to access.

If you wish to visit MIAC please send an email to make an appointment.
